Troll

Troll

Overview[]

He's big, he's bad, and he wants to smash the you-know-what out of things. The troll is a brutish minion, with increased health, who seeks out the combat rooms or traps that are attacking it. Trolls also target anti-air traps if they see them.

Unlocked during the Tutorial (by building a Workshop), the Troll can be upgraded in the Training Room, which will increase his damage and health.

As mentioned above, his biggest strength is destroying structures (rooms/traps) via melee attack; damage against other minions is average, but there is a significant increase against structures. Due to this, Trolls make an excellent addition to any Keeper's army.

He does have one particular weakness, however: fire. Fire absolutely wrecks a Troll. As a result, when defending against them, it's prudent to employ the use of Fireburst Traps, Warlocks and Dragon Breath spell. Otherwise, invading armies of Trolls can quickly be dispatched by savvy defenders.

Some of you out there might have had occasion to tell a "troll" or two to go "die in a fire" at some point. These big guys actually could, if you're not careful!

Attacking Trolls will actively seek out nearby hostile rooms (Dark Library , Hatchery , Graveyard , Training Room , Torture Chamber , Unholy Temple , Workshop ) when placed into an enemy Dungeon. They will not attack any traps except for Anti-Air unless they are hit by the traps.

Once all hostile rooms have been destroyed, they will move onto other rooms.

Notes[]

  • Trolls defensive location is the Workshop
  • Trolls should almost always be the bulk of your army
  • They are very weak to fire damage
  • Magmaw, Horny, Fireburst Traps, Chicken Bomb Traps, and Dungeon Hearts all do fire damage, making them very effective against Trolls
  • Avoid using Bomb Wall after trolls have been deployed. There is a bug that causes them to stand and attack the same spot for the rest of the raid or until killed
  • Trolls will go out of there way to destroy Anti Air traps, most commonly seen when a player is using a scouting boost. This is often a severe weakness for trolls
  • At level 35, max damage of trolls to rooms, traps etc. is 2,448 (per attack). If you purchase the (temporary) First Strike boost, which adds another 20% damage, trolls would do 2,937 damage. This could be increased further by bolstering the Torture Chamber, though it is unknown, how the two boosts stack, that is if the increase by bolstering the Torture Chamber would take effect before or after the First Strike boost is applied. Use this information to plan attacks or use it to make your trap health at least 3000 to allow them to withstand two strikes from even the strongest of trolls.
